'01 GLS: Your Thoughts/Comments

I'm seriously considering getting a used Jetta. I've been hunting in the local newspaper as well as autotrader.com. I think I've found a promising article:
VOLKSWAGEN 2001 Jetta GLS, blue, lo mi, clean. #23805 $11,999
The article is vague, but I called and the transmission is automatic (what I'm looking for), but forgot to ask about miles. It's a car dealership that posted it. Based on this, does this sound like a good price for this car? Are there any cautions about this model/year? I would greatly appreciate any feedback. TIA!
