Hi all,

Well I wasn't sure this completed pics thread would ever come to exist...! But, I finally succeeded in getting my first ever multi-media kit finished.

I won't go into lots of details about the build as you can see all of my comments in my progress thread found here:
http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=341686

20 months of building, lots of frustration and annoyance (this thing nearly became a boomerang so many times...), but at the same time it's also been some of my most enjoyable modeling ever. A big thanks also to those of you who have given support, advice, encouragement, and made various posts in my progress thread - it's been very helpful and much appreciated. It's amazing how much motivation the positive words can have to continue on with a very difficult build.

Anyway, without further ado, the results of my effots on my first multi-media kit...

You can see part of the RedFive seatbelts here, which I highly recommend. I forgot to get a full picture of the seatbelt hardware, but you can see it in the progress thread. If you look closely you can also see the radiators tucked away inside the side pods.

Notice the Michellin tire reflection in the rear wing end plate - my airbrushing is starting to get a point where I don't have to polish my clear coats, which was the case with this end plate where the smoothness/reflectiveness is essentially good enough without me playing with polishing cloths and compound.

Mark, Absolutly Stunning Work My Friend.

A very solid first effort for a multimedia kit. If I didn't know, I'd think you where pulling our legs. You have done a great job, one you should be very proud of. Congratulations, looking forward to your next.

Congratulations on the first media kit, I must say it is absolutely stunning. I cannot really think of any flaws. other than that the rear tyres dont stretch all over the rims in the rear (see the pic of the behind)

Very, very nicely done, especially considering the tricky engineering of the S27 tools !!

I always fancied these multimedia kits, but didnīt have the courage yet to actually get one and build it. But if this kind of result can be reached on the first attempt of a multimedia-kit, I sure shall try it.

Thank you for this great inspiration and "pep-talk". Your model truly looks great.

Who would have though a couple of lumps of resin and rough cast white metal could be transforned into such a stunning replica of a state of the art F1 machine? Congratulations on a superb result!

Thanks for all the replies guys!
The kit is looking great on my shelf with the other builds, although it certainly did become "grenade-worthy" a number of times...

Robrex: The Leyton House is back out, along with a couple of others that are half complete. Hopefully I can finish up another couple before the end of the year and get my pile of kits to build/finish down to about five.

TheSaint111 & Pippin1974: Next up is basically just finishing off some half completed builds. The Leyton House mentioned above, a 1/48 jet for something different, although I might throw a new resin F1 kit in the mix as well.

Cheers all!
