Couple races With a mach 1

Well myself I drive a cavilier.... but last night I got such a treat my uncle came around and gave me the keys to his 2003 mustang mach 1 for the night, he told me I could drive it as long as, a) I drove on my own gas, b) I didint get myself killed. I dont know what he has all done to it but its way louder then the other mach 1's I have seen around, anyway I was cruising doing like 60kph when I see some headlights coming up fast on the side, I didint really see what it was at first cause soon as he was at my side I downshifted and punched it and stopped his gain and put like 5 car lengths really quick on him and let off the gas and he came flying up to me and tried to do the flyby and I think to myself "nah fuck that" let him get like 3 cars ahead, boom floor it again, catch up, blow past and cut infront of him and I got a good look at the car and it was a 300zx and the driver seat was on the right side but I dunno what that means maybe import or something custom?

Then Im headed toward a light a while later and it goes yellow so I was about to get on it and fly through but I saw a nice clean lude slowing down to stop at the light so I did too, I looked over and saw the guy was in like my age range 17-19, so I gave him some revs and he rolled down his window,
Me: You wanna run it or what?
Him: That thing sounds like it wants to eat my first born.
Me: So thats no?
Him: I never said that, but your wasting your gas man...
Light goes green and we both hit it, my tires are spinning like mad and the back kicks out to the side so I had to let off and he gets ahead for a few seconds, then I get on it again and catch up and blow past again, I slowed down to let him catch up and he was grinning ear to ear and gave me the thumbs up and gets right beside me and honks it down, on the third honk I let him get a car before I hit it, again it doesnt take long to make up the lost ground and take the lead and just kept going till 170kph and his headlights are way back in the distance.

All in all this had to have been the most fun I have ever had driving a car, and definitly motivated me to start putting more savings into getting something better then the cavy..

yeah man your car is nuts, but I would have rather run something like that blew my doors off or atleast stayed even then murdering a couple slow cars.

There are tons of KB Blowered 03 Cobras hoping to run you i'm sure. As far as the Mach 1's are concerned, they need alot more then just a turbo to keep up IMHO.

Anyways, good kills author. I really like the Mach1. It has killer styling, and can run w/ the LS1 pretty well (Though the board members at Mach1registry will tell you their cars are a smidgen faster).

I still have yet to run one. Once they find out what I run at the track they won't race me unless they have something they know is faster. Go figure.

Yeah you just wait, once I get my motor put in my car and my K&N intake on you'll be begging at the mercy of my 222hp! :eek:

Nice runs with the borrowed car. They're pretty quick. I had one put up a pretty good fight at the track against the truck. Bolt on car and a 100 shot. I ran him on motor to make it fair. He still lost. :grinyes:

I finally got my 95 cobra running a couple days ago but all I ran into were a few ricers....couldn't really call it a race. All I have to say is I love that 540 horsies :) Still got to finish off my tuning on it though

yeah i'd love to see your car go up against a KB cobra. if and when you ever do race one be sure to get that on video.

I finally got my 95 cobra running a couple days ago but all I ran into were a few ricers....couldn't really call it a race. All I have to say is I love that 540 horsies :) Still got to finish off my tuning on it though

Just a Vortech (S-trim), H/C/I, exhaust with LTs, meth injection, and supporting mods. I kept the cobra intake and just had it P&P'd along with the World heads (looking at some AFR's after I get my cut from uncle sam.) Cam is a custom ground "blower" cam. Engine was bored to 306 so not much of a diff in cubes. Also went with forged internals. I have the 1.6 RR on there right now and am thinking about throwing some scorpion 1.7s on there. That's the main stuff.

Sounds like a bad ass cobra. I have a special love for the 94/95 Cobras. The 94 Cobra was the first car I ever did a doughnut and burnout in haha.

Sounds like you have a really nice setup. Should put down some great numbers at the track, granted you get good traction. Any suspension mods yet?

UPR C/C plates (not the best but they work, eibach sportline springs, adjustable control arms. Tire wise I have 285s in the back and 265s in the front. The rears are 18x10 Saleens and the fronts are 18x9 saleens. I'm in the market for new tires. I was looking at the nitto 555s, any experience with these? The falkens I have right now just aren't working for me. I'm always breaking traction and the car starts "dancing" on the road if you will.

Exhaust wise I have Borla XR-1s, LTs, and a bbk h-pipe. Right now I'm at around 11#s of boost...don't wanna go too much further on the stock block.

I love the 94/95 mustangs in general. SN-95 body style with the 5.0 engine. The cobra has a special place in my heart as well. As a matter of fact..this is the car I learned how to drive stick on (wasn't too fun with a spec stage III clutch)....and did my first donut and REAL burnout. Still working on some more stuff for the car but with being a college student money is tight.

That's a slick looking car you have there. I have a buddy that has a very similar looking car. The only difference appearance wise is he has went with an SS-scoop style hood. Keep it clean!

haha, yeah...it's been down for the last couple months. I'm gonna give it a good washing once I get my fluidyne radiator installed.
