fujimi 1/12 R32 GTR

hi all

has any one done a 1/12 r32 gtr by fujimi before?
has any one had the same problems with theirs?

mine r:

- The tiny screws shred the plastic, making the screws useless ( an utter bitch for test fitting parts on this model )
- The doors r openable on this kit, BUT they don't close properly, the gaps around the door r uneven, and the clips that hold them closed r way too long, and they bend every time u open the doors!
- this kit also has the posable front wheels viz the steering wheels, similar to that of die cast models. Looks like fujimi did a real half ass job in this area.
- the bonnet is also openable, and it does not sit properly between the front guards

for such an expensive kit, it does look very nice, and has a nice engine bay and the kit is easy 2 paint, but fujimi have done a real shitty job on quality control on this kit. I wish tamiya did their gtr in this scale.

I have a 1/16 Lambo by them which i shelved a long time ago because of similar fitment problems that u describe. They would make excellent models but require a hell of alot of work to get them looking good. One thing that is particularly bad with my kit is that the two mold halves were slightly off - perhaps worn or poor tooling - which means that every piece in the box needs to be filed,sanded or scraped. As u can imagine their are hundreds or parts and i'm just not prepared to put the time in for it, hence why it sits at the bottom of my cupboard.

I wanted to get that kit, cos it's on discount on hlj... can you take some pics of it?? I was expecting some fit problem... but not that much.. :( Is the kit "do-able" or is it simply too time consuming??

its do-able, what i've done with the doors and bonnet on mine is just glue them shut (except 4 the bonnet) just sux how its such a nice kit with all these extra features...and u can't even use them
