Gauge Lighting

Just a Quick question, how hard is it to change the lighting behind your gauge cluster. I'm tired of the orange and want to go with a blue but I have never really done any lighting, when it comes to cars. Any help on time frame for work or maybe what kind of bulbs are behind the panel would help thanks.

I know they r just clear bulbs n shine thru a filter that makes them a different colour i wish i could have it red

Mine do, but they came with the car when I bought it, the needle is still that amber/orangy color tho. Probly need to buy a custom gauge face and then get the color LED's you want.

Oh, im not sure where I got orange from it's more green. Anyways I have the 04 LS sport so basically just take off the dash and switch the lights??? are they 194 like the rest or something unigue?

somebody here...and I don't remember who it was, used leds to change the color of his guages. You can use them to change the needles and the guage face.

I think I know What I am doing this winter... :)

I did a little search into this... pre-2000 guys are in for an easy swap, anyone post 2000 I don't advise you doing this since you have to remove your needles to access the lighting.

95-99 guys...

I did a little search into this... pre-2000 guys are in for an easy swap, anyone post 2000 I don't advise you doing this since you have to remove your needles to access the lighting.

Hmmm...I may buy me another cluster to test it on first. If I can get it to work, then I'll use that cluster.

the LEds are on page 2 when you get to the right section of the website. You have to read the fine print. BUt those are the bulb #'s that you need. I'm going to get some for my Autometer gauges as well.

^ Nice, that should be pretty cool. Have you heard of www.oznium.com for Led's and such as well? Are they the same type of leds or whatever?

Do we know what # the bulbs are for the needles? Or are they included with the 194's for the cluster?

Im so glad i seen this thread again im going to get some of them tomaro n have red gauges now Also i just got finished clear coating my interior peices so i can put the bulbs in when im putting all them parts on

I fucking hate Jbo sometimes, some of them are just a bunch of cunts and can't answer with a simple number, god damn they piss me off. CODY WHAT'S THE DAMN ANSWER?! lol :lol:

I tried takeing the bulbs out of my cluster and they r in a green thing that screws into the back of the cluster but i couldn't get the bulbs out of the green thing they were stuck in it. I didn't want to break the blubs so i gave up any advice on how i can get them out
