Looks good for a diy job with no tools or experience. Most that I have seen do not mount flush to the fenders, nor are they level across the top. I am with everyone else tho...do you have money saved up for a paint job or are you just gonna leave it white? Most people go for the sleeper look but if you wanna go for the ricer look thats cool too! haha jk man, looks good. Oh and btw Metallica Rocks!

my99cavy
10-01-2006, 11:02 AM
Awesome looks like it fits very well. That damn video is too damn long though lol I am also wondering derk, do you have the money for the paint job or no? lol please dont leave it white and red man I see too many damn stupid rice kids driving around like that and they give us cavy drivers a bad name lol.

Not to steal your vidoe glory, but I got those dam mounts on. AHHHHHHHHH! Ok, now that outta me... that was one most annoying and time consuming thing I have done to this car. Its always that dam lower mount. Cuz you know when you have to use a truck to get it in place... theres not even a word to describe it. AHHHHH seems to work fine tho. Butttttt, I really doi like the outcome of this day, extremly shakey at idle, and almost no engine movement during shifts or taking off. =D One step closer to that turbo.

10-01-2006, 10:03 PM
congrats...btw Side Skirts are effin hard to put on. More to come, lol. Yes I am painting them. I'm not sure what you mean with the whole ricer comment...I'm assuming you mean like Hondas and Mishibtishs..or w/e.. lol

my99cavy
10-01-2006, 10:08 PM
I think by ricer he ment sticking out because with a kit on the car people notice you more vs not having one being a sleeper.

Lances133
10-02-2006, 07:30 PM
That would explain the crack it has.

my99cavy
10-02-2006, 07:59 PM
Yeah ok its a crack which is small, im talking about either the thing is broke in half or there is a crack running along the whole thing.

honestly if I get a kit I definatley wont buy it off ebay, my luck it will show up in tiny pieces.

i was reading an instructional thing from ebay, like a tips and tricks deal, on buying body kits off ebay, lol and it said to inspect the pieces for cracks while the driver is still there...yeah it took me like 10 minutes to open the box and lay the pieces out, lol. There was like 40 staples in the top of that, and on top of that, each piece was wrapped in small bubble wrap, then re-wrapped in big bubble wrap, with styrofoam pieces inbetween each piece....needless to say, it took awhile to get them all out, lol.

my99cavy
10-02-2006, 09:42 PM
see the sender does it on purpose lol they make it as hard and time consuming as possible that way the driver wont want to wait around and by the time you get it open and discover whats wrong with it the drive is long gone lol.

Derk_eliso

oh well. I repaired it tonight, and I'm waiting overnight to see if it sets right. Then sometime this weekend we're going to try to get my back bumper on. For the front one, we had to hold it in place, and push the other side in, in other words it was 3 inches too wide, just like this back bumper is 3 inches too wide too. and I'm just afraid it will crack when we're bending it...I hope not :( Then on the side-skirts, we can get the two sides in just fine, but in the middle, it's not flush with the car...and on top of that, I'm not sure if you just like hold it to the car and screw it to the door panel and then fiberglass over the screws or...I'm still not 100% on that one.

my99cavy
10-02-2006, 09:56 PM
^exactly why i'm not going to buy a kit from ebay. I will stick to my local car shop for the kit :).

yeah yeah. But when it comes down to it..what's in the box, is going to be on the car...soon. Wednesday night we'll attempt the rear bumper...so, I guess this will go in the rear drift section also! and Friday will conclude the mess, with the side-skirts... hopefully :)

Painting is many miles and many pennies down the road. Sometime in the spring I was estimate. I'm also getting a new car in February. WS6 Trans Am Firebird, 5.7 V8, Ram Air, 6-Speed Transmission, oh so nice. 0-boner in 2 seconds, lol.
