My 95 eclipse was making a rattling noise and i was told that it was my throwout bearing going out, well it will now not even go it to gear and i was just told that it wasnt my throwout bearing it was a bad transmission, has anyone every had a similar problem and can tell me whats actually wrong? the noise goes away when i engauge the clutch

Uh oh... I hate to be the one to say this but my car was doing the exact same thing after I put my new tranny in it. I also thought throwout bearing so I tore it all apart and it looked as if my input shaft for the tranny had smacked the end of the crank... And we all know what that means...

Dare I say a possible crankwalking case?

I would first pull the tranny and see to it that it is in fact not just the throwout bearing gone bad. Lets hope thats all that is wrong.
