Xbox 360 repair

i just had to send my xbox360 out to be serviced cuz i had a hardware failure. i was just wondering if anyone knows about how long it'll take to get sent back to me.

my friend did it, bout 1-2 months...

for real? fuck. how is it that my NES from 1982 still works but my xbox 360 from 4 months ago already shit the bed? i shoulda waited for the ps3.

I had my 360 break too. Like 6 months after I bought it. They told me to send it in and they'd fix it for $100. So I went to Best Buy and bought a new one. Then returned the broken one the next day. Microsoft can go fuck themselves if they think I'm gonna PAY to repair a $400 machine I bought 6 months ago. :mad:

if it isn't down to error of the user, isn't it covered by manufacturer's warranty?

^should be. i didn't have to pay a dime to get mine fixed. it's supposed to have a 1 year manufactrer warranty. i didn't even have to pay for shipping.

haha! that's great! my PS2 finally went out, but hail the NES and SNES that work perfectly!

I thought so too. But my brother called up Microsoft about the issue and they said the machine only comes with a 90 day warranty. I still love the console and can't wait for Forza 2 but the 90 day thing really pissed me off. Especially because during the return to Best Buy their tech guy told me the DVD/game reader going out is a common problem with the machine. If Microsoft knows it's an issue they should fix the thing for free, out of warranty or not!!! No?? :confused:

Oh well, I still won in the end. I just wish I could've thrown the broken 360 at Gates' head. :icon16:

My 360 was busted way back when I got it on launch day, I sent it in the following Monday and received a brand new one on Friday.

im surprised that i missed this. if your xbox 360 was manufactered before jan 2006, and has a prob, they will repair it for free, or if u have gotten it repaired and paid for the repairs, they should be re-embursing you. it was a news article btw. mines was manufactured in feb 2006, no warrenty as i was planning on modding it. no problems as of yet. the conscel has its habitat of downstairs in about 60F weather all the time. a nyco intercooler or w/e is also on the back of it. longest ive played it was maybe 8 hours???? and no problems. i just leave it on after im done playin and take out the game so i can cool down and tell it to shut down from the menu not the power button.

It's all about Halo 3

actually, its more about gears of war so far then halo 3. gears of war drops in about 36 days i believe. like november 10th or something. forza and halo are also selling the 360. theres more than just halo this time around, and thats a good thing.

army of two for PS3 is gonna spank gears of war and halo3.
