Well at last i have made up my mind on the next one to build. It will be the Tommy Kaira Subaru
Had a play with the set up last night and i'm thinking about throwing the wheels and using aftermarket ones.
Here's a pic of what they look like from the box. I really want to keep the car standard and use these rims but they dont quite look right IMO...maybe once its built it will look OK.
The rims will need to be painted again as they look crap.
Car will be painted white.
Updates will follow as it get done

Hi,
i think that originals wheels are very small than the picture on the box...... It's not a suprise by the manufacturers FUJIMI or TAMIYA.....
It would be nice in 18" or in 19" if you decide to open the wheel arch.......... that would be a good project.......

Awesome, thought of a color yet? :coolguy:
Word of advice: Cutting out the four vents on the hood (bonnet) can be tough as the plastic is pretty thick. I managed to cut them out hacking away with my X-acto knife and a dental probe, but I'm sure there's an easier/better way..

The design of the wheels looks gd... but i have to agree that the color sucks... a slightly lighter shade of gold will be better... I will be starting my WRX VI soon... will be using this set of wheels... ;)

Today was paint day and it came out pretty well.
Yesterday the body was primed and then the primer was oven baked at my work which allows me to spray the finish coat the following day.
Other bits and pieces have been sprayed and detail work to be done next.

I see you decided not to cut the hood vents out! I also see you have finally decided on a color, what wheels are you keeping? :)

I was going to cut them out like Dan done with his but thought as the detail is pretty good on them they will be painted with my marker pen which will give a good finish and still be able to see the mesh

gold on white can be pretty sharp, quick blast of gold leaf makes a world of difference on those rims.

Primera Man,
You mention the oven baking the primer at your work.....I am sure you have answered this before, but may I ask in what kind of oven?
And now that you have me interested can I ask what kind of work you do? Just having a curious moment:D
Either way, I am looking forward to seeing another finished kit from you, you sure are keeping my interest in the sport going....

I re-sprayed the ones that come with the kit TS-21 Gold which makes them look alot better, but they still look to small IMO.
I did have the OZ Racing 18's for it but that idea has been stolen already !!..lol
I probably just wait untill its altogether then make my mind up.
freakray....We have a very small oven that we use to dry out any electronic cards that get wet....just right for models !!!
My job is a Team Leader for Servicing and repairing locomotives. When loco's arrive into my depot we check them over, fuel/water etc etc ready for its next trip.
If it craps out...i have to fix the piece of junk before it goes back into service

Here's a update so far. :)
Interior is almost done along with the underneath. I love those blue face dials !!!
The wheels have been resprayed in gold and have turned out really well. I will now keep them as i think they really suit the car now.
Detail to come on the wheels also.
I have not touched the height as the wheels already touch the tops of the inner guards which is another reason i dont want to change the wheels to bigger ones as this will mean having to remove alot of the inner guard.
IMO the height looks just right.
So far the kit is very basic and all parts are fitting really well.
Body detail is next to do.

Heres a couple of pics for an update.
90% of the body is done.
Have cut the front number plate mount out to open up the front and added mesh.
The intercooler and all the lights have been Bare Metal Foiled for a better look.
Hopefully be finished in a few days

Nice work, and soon we'll get you into some snazzy gray panel lines on your next white model;)
That is one sinister looking Impreza there. Almost looks Mitsubishi-ish, and a little like our Nissan Sentra SE-R SpecV. Dunno what I'm going to do w/mine yet. I have a few other projects (seems like about 972) ahead of it.

I only got the chance to pop in at this stage... You only started a couple of days ago and we're already on page 3 of this thread... and the Scoob! ;) is nearly finished. I have to get one of these marker pens for my door panelling.
Oh and euh, you didn't knew about Tommi Kaira either. :bloated: is a European thing I guess... :D :D
Anyway, looks pretty impressive!
