i am having some stereo work done on my 95 civic coupe and i need to know how to remove the dash panel that is just above the steering wheel and wraps around the a\c controls and head unit. i want to remove it, relocate the a\c controls, fiberglass the panel to hold a 7" monitor, and relocate the head unit to the lower audio console. any help would be appreciated......thanx!

If it's anything like my 90 Si hatchback, it's gonna be a huge pain in the ass to relocate the AC controls. My climate control settings are all controlled by mechanical levers. So, unless yours are all switches and buttons, you're gonna have a rough time.

Yeah you need to take apart your whole car starting at the bottom with the little "shin" panel and work your way up taking out various pieces till you can get to it (has like 14 screws that hold it on from behind) Hope you got all kinds of various sized screw drivers and 90 degree angle one etc. cause your gonna need it!

Wow! I figured as much. Although, I have the panels beneath the steering wheel out and the guage cluster is off and i can feel a few of the screws on the back side of the panel but still cannot figure out how this thing comes out. AAARRRRGH!

in my car, you have to start with the trim panels under the glove bix and sterring column. then the center console along with the radio and then their are four big mounting screws that hold the dashboard in place. just get a book for you car like a chilton's or something and it'll be a lot easier.

thanx for the input so-cali.......we finally got this thing off today. quite a task to say the least. add about 1.5 hours of labor to my install bill.....hahahaha. it should be well worth it though!

Do you have pics of the finished look?

not yet......the car is still at the stereo shop "under the knife" so to speak. we are doing a full tear down including removing the rear seat, fiberglassing the door panels, relocating the ac controls, etc. As soon as the car is complete though, i will post some pics!!!!
