vibration problem

i have a 1990 dodge omni i had to replace the motor i got a motor with 89,000 miles runs great i also had to replace the automatic flywheel (missing teeth) i went to the junk yard and all the had was a flywheel from a 2.5 L. I also replaced the axles, all the mounts too. when i started the car up it vibrates in the front end at a idle and when driving i cant see out of the rear view mirror it vibrates that bad. I was told that it was because i was using a flywheel off of a 2.5 and all i had to do was knock the little weight off the flywheel and it should be good to go. Well i did that and it seems like it's worse now i went to auto zone and bought a brand new one that one also has no weight on it. the orignal one one had a weight on it. I really dont know if thats really the problem any help would would be great. thanks

Your problem is most likely the flywheel. Most likely, it was missing a balance weight when you installed it, causing your original problem. Then, knocking off another existing balance weight made it worse. These weights are added for a reason.

Doing what you did with the 2.5L flywheel (removing the existing balance weight) is like having your car vibrating while driving down the road, then knocking off a balance weight from each wheel, hoping that it smooth out after you are done. It don't work that way.

The new flywheel you purchased should be balanced already. If you are in doubt, take it to a machine shop and have them check and rebalance it for you. In fact, you could probably take the 2.5L flywheel down and have it rebalanced to make the vibration go away.
