Diesel vs. normal gas

I was talkin with my dad today and he said that diesel engines make alotta power, but i thought that the gas we use makes more power, since well every supercar uses it not diesel..... I know i'm right, well i think i am, but i couldn't proove it to him i didn't know how to explain that gas is better than diesel...... i've never showed up my dad with car expertise, so somebody please help me! :D i need to show him i know all, hehe :D

You'll have a hard time proving that to your dad. Modern diesel engines make almost as much power, and also have sognificantly more torque. These cars can move! They have mada a huge step forward with diesel engines in the last couple of years... I never liked them, but they deserve a lot of respect...

when i told him that gas engines produce more power he said i'm half right, but didn't specify why... he likes to keep my guessin, that damn bastard!! :D i guess what he was thinkin is that they make more torque... cause he said they can tow more, or somethin like that

nobody else has any tips for me?
