99gst black front piece

most of you know that on the 2g eclipse there is a black little piece that sticks out on top of the mouth of the front bumper... i was wondering if there were any of u that cut away that black piece and how it came out? i recently got a front mounted intercooler from apex and i was thinking about cutting away the black piece...but a couple of my friends said that it would ruin the shape of the bumper...is that true? how has urs come out if u have cut away the front bumper?

Im pretty sure that they black piece is part of the molded bumper cover, so if you want to cut it out, thatll probably mean the bumper will have to be painted, from what I've read and data I've seen that piece doesnt cause any flow problems, and as far as fitting the intercooler in the bumper cover, most guys just trim out the back of that piece.
