Does anyone know whether the three-day passes to the USGP next year include the support races? We're planning on going for a Father's Day family vacation next year. The more racing, the better.

I'll take that as a no...

As per usual.

Yeah, the three day pass has always included Thursday (open pit walk aorund and driver interviews), Friday (practice and some qualifying for support races), Saturday (F1 qualifying and support races) and Sunday (Porsche supercup and F1 races). It better be that way next year, I'll be coming up from New Mexico this time.

Excellent. This will be my first F1 race in person. They're not much for racing, but they're awesome to see drive around the track in a strung-out line. The support races are usually better races, as far as on-track competition goes.

the best seats are in stand H and ones to the left that include turn 1, the paddock is kind of lame as you cant really make of anything other than a red strip going 200+ infront of you.

We sit just past turn 1 and we can see turns 1 thru 7, and you can see the cars coming out of turn 13 and all the way down the straightaway. There is also a jumbotron right in front of us. Trust me, that's important. We sit in Northwest Vista, Section 4. Rows above K (I think) can see over the fence. I would never think of sitting anywhere else.

Anybody ever sat on the berms with general admission passes? How are the sightlines, etc?

We always go to turn 9 for the support races. You can see turns 8, 9, 10 and if you turn around, 11. I usually watch the porsche races from 11.

Does anyone know the best place to sit? What's the petnhouse like? Are there better seats for the value? 150 isn't much for A PENTHOUSE.

Look at posts #7 & 8 in this thread. Those tickets were $85 last year.

I got tickets in H stand for S14 row A, and I was reading about row K. Did I do a bad thing? lol I've still got time.

You still have a view of the track, just not as much as you would if you were in a higher row. I would try to get higher if you can. I would try to go to at least row K. If you can't, you are going to have one of thebest views of turn 1. Last year that's where Montoya (i think) caused that huge pile-up at the start of the race.

That'll be tough because I can't return the ticket, the only thing I can think of is ebay.

Something I didn't know about this year's USGP: Racing first are Porsche GT3 Cups, Formula BMW and Indy Pro!!!!

you have got to watch the porsche gt3s on track; the sound they make is amazing and will change your life forever (as well as making you want a 911)

I'm definitely going as much for the support races as for the F1 event.

Are all those races going to be held on the 17th? In the past, the formula BMW (i think it was a mazda series last year) and Indy Pro cars raced the day before. Only the Porsche races were the same day as the F1 event. Either way, it will still be awesome!
I just really really hope that Scott Speed stays on the track until the end of the race. He hasn't made too many racelaps yet this year.

That was my first race too. I had a blast though. Were you there for all the events or just the race? I love the few days leading up to the main event? Fortunately, we go with about fifteen people and have three campsites at the KOA just east of Indy so our nights are pretty entertaining. We have an awesome time though. Flip through some of the old posts in this section. I started one; I think it was entitled "What to do in Indy" Someone left some good tips there if I remember right.
