I'm a new member, thank you for reading my post. On my 1998 Taurus SE with standard Vulcan 3.0 engine, my battery warning light is coming on during driving. It may either flash on and off, flash rather dim, stay on for ten miles or so, or remain off for a period of time. Battery checks out ok and is somewhat new. No problems or hesitation starting. Any help appreciated.
Thank you for your replies. I checked my alternator, and it has gone bad. I appreciate those who commented.

I'd say you should get your alternator checked, following a quick tension test on your serpentine belt. The only times my battery light has come on (and I've had batteries go dead overnight on me) is when my alternator wasn't turning because of a serpentine belt problem -- one time the waterpump had gone without warning and ate the belt and the other time the belt was wet and slipping.
That was on a 94 GL and a 97 GL respectively.

If the Alt checks out
Check the wire from your battery to your Megafuse panel.
That wire is a little short and sometimes the strands get broken
