When I left school today my car sounded alittle funny, kinda cool but not normal. I was assuming that my downpipe might have come unbolted on one side and was hanging down....but I never expected this!

Anybody seen something like this? Anybody have a 3" O2 for sale?

That is rather interesting... I do believe the weight of your exhaust is being supported too much by the o2 housing... Just a guess though. lol

yeah, no idea how it happened...too hot?

I bet ya it was running a bit too hot and then the cold weather nailed it when the car was shut off and thats what did it... At least it was damn cold here in Ohio today. 46.... Brrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I doubt it was the temp change. That thing sees extreme temps all the time. Is your exhaust hanging like it should?

yup, sure is...I just got done taking off the downpipe and the o2 housing (which was cracked into two pieces).
I was at LSE and got a new one (260.00) but it has the wrong flange on it.
anyone know where to get one? 260 just seems too spendy...

I'm not saying the extreme temperatures did it. I'm saying too quick of a change in the temperature. Such as he runs it really hard, gets to class and shuts it off without letting it cool a little bit first and then the cold air drops the temperature too fast and causes it to crack. I'm not saying thats what caused it but you know its a possibility.

yeah...but the wierd thing is I did let it run today for some reason (5min) and I usually dont, maybe it is better to turn it off right away haha

Damn man, that sucks. Probably sounded nice and deep throaty haha. My 1st guess would be no hanger/support on the downpipe but you sed its all fine under there. Weird...

How long have you been using it? I would imagine the exhaust is hot as hell coming straight out of the turbo and that non cast 02 housing cant take it as well as a cast one can.

Something similar happend to me a while back...when I took my down pipe off the hangar right next to the O2 housing broke off and took a huge chunk of the exhaust off....not sure how it happened....but that sucks man....guess its time for an upgrade...:naughty:

haha I got her all fixed up for now, I ended up welding it and welded some short pieces of rod vertically. I wrapped it in exhaust wrap and it looks real good and strong. I just dont see the point in spending 380.00 to fix something that can be fixed for 20.00. Yes it would cost 380.00 because VRS SUCKS!! They use a 3 bolt (triangle) flange instead of the regular 2 bolt flange almost EVERONE else uses. So the only other way to fix it other than welding it is to buy a new downpipe and O2 housing.

O BTW I smoked an evo with exhaust and intake...I was kinda scared of those fuck*rs the way everyone talks about em. But if you havent raced one yet I highly recommend it, it feels like a million bucks when u blow thier doors off. :-)

I highly advise to stayclear of VRS!! Thier customer service sucks, their product was obviously not thick enought and strong enought to be considered a performace part.

Thier exhaust parts are not compatible with any other company (other than the muffler with is magnaflow anyways...)

But if you are searching for exhaust go with a different company...MY :2cents:
