Hi all,

I have a 09 Oldsmobile 98 with digital cluster

Recently, when the engine was on, I noticed the temperature number(77 as shown) flickling (blinking). I do not have the owner manual to know what it tries to tell me. I have read the manual, but now cannot remember what is says.

Anyone knows what that mean, please let me know. Thank you very much.

I had the same problem with my 92 Olds 98. Don't ask me how I figured this out because I cant remember, but if you disconnect the battery for a minute or two and then re-connect it the problem might go away. When mine was blinking the A/C didn't work, once I went through the drill all worked again and it has been working for the last 3 years. Mine has something to do with the cold, once it crosses over the 50* mark it happens. I just go through the drill and it works again. If it works for you, look for the A/C fuse, pulling it works also and you don't have to reset the clock and the radio but try the bat 1st.. Good luck.. Jeff N3NAA

When the display is flashing, it is telling you that you have a fault in the system. I.e. low Freon, blend door actuator, etc. You can usually reset the code as described above, however, it will come back if you actually do have a system malfunction!
