I just swapped in a 1995 b18c wih 35k on it into my 93 civic. I haven't turned it over yet because i was told i need the proper ecu, or my ex to be chipped and re-flashed to run this setup. true or false? and if true, would it be worth it if a friend of mine said he would do it adding the mugen chip for 100.00? please help.

you definitely need a new ecu to run that motor properly. the old one might be able to get it started, but it would not be safe to run the motor that way. i dont think getting your old one chipped would be worth it, if it even worked. the best thing to do is just get a new one that is made for that motor. usually the ecu comes as part of the swap package, because of the necessity of it.

Just get the right ECU OBD1 P72 is the way to go!
Its a rare ECU, hard to get sometimes but best for the swap!
