Try HybridZ.org They have all the answers to swap anything into a Z. I myself am putting a Jag V12 in mine.

i like the chevy 350 swap. its pretty easy to do its practicly a drop in. any chevy small block 350 from the mid 60's all the way to the 80's will be the same size. getting a rebuilt motor is a great idea if you dont know how to do it yourself. you can get them all over ebay. the Z is a damned versatile car....

Staledald thats an ill swap.. what kind of HP/TQ are you looking at with that switch.. and any plans to turbo?
ever consider the propane mod?

The reason I'm going V12 is I'm also doing a rebody of a 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO. It's a V12 with 6 webers. Mine will be about 350hp. Not a real hot rod just a cool driver. I've got a Jag irs for it also. Just a toy for an old retired guy to play with.

Putting a SBC in your Z will be one of the easiest convertions you ever have to do. Hooker headers even makes a header to fit the install. You an chose any motor, all will give you a good starting point which you can build up latter.
