Moon roof stuck open

Since i got no answers on expedition forum i know ill get it here.My buddys 02 expedition roof is all the way back will not go forward. He says when he pushes back on button like to open it he hears a click. When he pushes forward to shut nothing at all. Any ideas he doesnt have a clue what to do. DAVE

Try to get to the wiring harness for the actuator motor. Check to see if power is get to it. Should have power both ways. If it does there could be a problem, with the motor or linkage. If it doesn't you will have to trace wires and look for problems. Could be a bad relay also. Hope this helps.

While youre checking the power at the actuator motor, hold the button down and bang on the motor with your hand, or whatever it takes to reach it. They suffer a common problem with power window motors, residue from the brushes/commutator, sometimes grease and dirt, can cause the brushes to hang in the holder. banging on it will jar em loose, get you by for a while sometimes
