Yes, I went street racing with a 400hp S15 who powerslided into my right fender.

We went from a launch, I saw him power sliding in my direction so I braked to avoid him hitting me, but was unlucky, his rear bumper collided with the fender above the front wheel and smashed it, coming cm away from buckling my new hood..........................

Bastard tryed doing a runner, but his car was too slow and his rear bumper was falling off.....

Will post some pics in a few days.............................................. ........

I woulda made him pay out of pocket, if not, call the cops for a hit and run. The fact that he ran, I'd be tempted to do both. :evillol:

As soon as he got out he started apologising I got out of my car and he took a step back ready for something, I told him how fucked up it was for him to run, he said he panicked and didn’t want a fight, then the guy who filmed us racing told me that we were both in the wrong and that there was more damage to his friends car than mine (BS) and that he had the footage on tape if we were to go to court. I explained to this idiot that we were racing on a two way street and that I mad sure that I was on the right side of the road, his friend being on the opposite lol he shut up.

I asked them what the fuck they are going to do to fix my car and if he had insurance, which he didn’t, I was almost ready to nock him out, he said he will pay cash, I basically had to force all of the information out of this guy, I told him as long as he pays me the money there will be no problems he kept apologising and I just kept saying the same thing basically, people walking buy probably though I was blackmailing the guy lol

Anyway I got some quotes from a few shady places who overcharge and made out that I was ignorant and that this was a big deal, anyway it would cost 600-700 to fix this maybe, but he ended up paying me $1200.00 based on those quotes lol I’m happy, this should pay for my new twin plate clutch………………….. which also went out after 3months………………………

so it is going to cost about 700 to get it fixed and he gave you 1200. thats 500 in your pocket. if im correct, double plate clutches cost like about 1500

if someone did that to me and tried to run off, i'd key the estimate into his hood so that there would be no question about how much he owed me lol

i just wish i could've seen the chase. i bet you didn't even have to leave 2nd :P

so the estimates you got were 600-700. but he ALREADY paid you 1200???

i'm missing something. i assume you gave him the estimates? so why would he pay you 500 bucks MORE than the estimate?

Ralliart = shady

I was wondering that myself. Even an idiot would ask to see the estimate prior to handing over the cash. Ok - maybe a complete idiot would, but honest to god total idiots are a rarity.

I said he payed me $1200 based on the quotes, My quotes were between $1200.00-$1400.00NZ to get it fixed (maybe $700.00-$800.00USD max, for panel,Paint,Instalation etc................... he also cracked my right blinker)

But I'm able to get this done for about $700.00NZD, because I can get the parts through my freind for a good price........................

dude, there's this thing called logic. its NOWHERE in your post. i can read fine, but we can't read your mind. if Yogs thought the SAME thing i did, i think he would agree with me when i say you didn't explain yourself very well.

and you NEVER said the quotes were between 1200-1400 NZD. that was nowhere in your previous posts (unless you just recently edited them). i guess everytime you report something financial, everyone is supposed to telepathically know if its in NZD or USD.

good job on being a crook, laundering money, all while performing illegal acts yourself (street racing). honestly, any moron can tell you that IF this went to court, neither you nor the guy who supposedly hit you would get ANY money, since you were both breaking the law.

Umm I'm no crook, I class the guy who did the runner to be a crook or at the least immoral.

Laundering money?? hell these places were going to charge me that amount anyway, and me being able to get the job done cheaper through a freind has nothing to do with what he should pay me.

If you want to call me a shady character or a crook then you are an asshole.

I'd argue that there is no god, no divinely or naturally derived absolutes, and therefore morals don't have much of a foundation. I would say, the only thing I really can know is that I, myself, exist in this space and time. Sartre says that is all well and good, except that when somebody else looks at you, you feel objectified, signifying that they are another independent subject capable of objectifying you. So if I've ever felt objectified, I would be led to believe that there are other individuals who I will interact with in this existence. Being that I have felt objectified at one time in my life or another, I have 2 options.

a) live based on my own meaning, not giving a damn about what anyone else thinks, or
b) trying to live with other's thoughts/feelings (on some level)

Being that I do think others exist and I, personally, am a social being who relies on other's opinions, experiences, and points of view to supplement justification, excitement, arousal, and/or general entertainment in my life, I accept that there has to some sort of personal concession, and I cannot live directly fulfilling my wants/needs/desires, without a care in teh world for others. It both isn't practical, and pisses other people off, and ultimately usually results in jail time. So while there are no 'absolute morals' I do believe some sort of system is required for multiple unique individuals to coexist. Much like the traffic system (red/yellow/green lights) I think 'morals' are a great tool taught to us to keep us from 'crashing' into each other.

So that said, everybody probably has their own views on how (insurance) fraud fits into that system. While some of you may not agree with his response to the incident, personally, being that hte guy ran and didn't try to resolve the situation in a mutual way, I say he kind of deserves getting ripped off for $500.

All of that being said, in the interest of preventing a further 'collision of points of view', this one is getting closed

ps, ralli, watch the langauge.
