02 2500 New tires=New problems, unsafe...

I have had 3 sets of new 10 ply tires installed on my 02 yukon XL 2500. All 3 sets are out of control, literally. They sway like I am ice. Am I alone here on this? I had my old, almost worn out tires put back on and the problem went away. I ran coopers first the HT's, then the ATR's, and currently Pirelli ATR's Scorpions. They are telling me its the tread depth, I have a hard time believing it.
They tell me it's worse with the suburban's than the trucks. The sway or tread sqirm is really, really bad. I am concerned about my families safety. It feels like under the right panic situation, I could go out of control and roll....
Stock rims, great bushings, the truck has 70K miles on it. Like I said before, the old tires we mounted back on, and the problem went away. The old tires, although not worn completely out, where coopers 265 75 16's. We mounted the same size in the cooper HT and then the ATR's in the 245 75 16's thinking the tire was too oversized. The problem was WORSE with the 245's.
Tha pirellis are 265's, and the problem is there with those also.
What a pain... 4 tire changes, and no improvement, unless I want to run my old tires....
I should add that these are all E-load rated tires, and I even tested using more air than I would normally run. I pumped them up to the 80 psi, and the problem is no better. I usually run 50 in the front and 60 in the rear with my old tires.
I thought about adding a rear sway bar, but I can't see why the old tires wouldn't need one and the new ones would.
I can't believe other 2500 suburban or yukon XL owners haven't had this problem. After 3 sets of different tires, I would think it would be a more common problem.
I don't feel my family will be safe in it's current condition with "new" tires. What should I do?

Unbelievable!
I have the same truck - 2002 C2500 and have not had a problem.
Can't imagine what could cause that.
I replaced the original tires with Michelins - 265 75 16's.
Have about 50,000 on them now.
Where are you located?

I have a similar situation with my '02 Suurban. I got new tires at about 65,000 miles. Dealer recommended a more agressive tire for snow season in northeast. I got a rumble in front right and a swaying, like you said, felt like I was on ice. Dealer inspected entire front end and found nothing wrong. The dealer then balanced all 4 wheels, changed to another set of tires, "road balanced" tires, alligned front end, changed front shocks, upgraded to Michilin tires and re balanced. He is not charging anything for all hie labor (I have been a customer there for years) and has reduced prices on all parts.
I had another Chevy dealer check as well as an independent shop. Nobody could find anything wrong.
I had a 2000 Silverado that did the same thing at about 85.000 miles. Maybe something weakens in front end around then.

hello? OK...I know this is an old thread, but the problem seems to be an issue for drivers today. I'm wondering if it could be the power steering pressure control valve. If it doesn't work right the steering can become "overpowered" and feel very sloppy. It gives a feel of wandering and poor handling.
