Power Locks Problem - Keep blowing fuses

Subject Car: 2000 Mirage 1.8 Auto 4 door, pwr win and locks.

Need some help, we keep blowing fuses. We replaced the driver master door switch and it worked for a awhile, and now it keeps blowing fuses again.
I purchased a CD-rom shop manual for the mirage on ebay and they suggest also perhaps trying to replace the ETACS-ECU to see if that corrects it. Has this happened to anyone else before.

Apparently the ETACS (Electronic Timer Alarm Control System) ECU controls (relays) signals between switches and auctuators and can apparently fail.

We are just not sure we want to plop down mega dollars at the dealer before trying this to see if this is the culprit. We may try an auto salvage yard, but there is no guarantee you are getting one that is already defective.

Any suggestions or been there done that experience?

Since it worked for a while after you replaced the master switch, I'd pull that door panel again and look for a wire that perhaps has rubbed through the insulation and is shorting out. Also take a good look at where the wire bundle goes through the door jamb by the hinges. Just a WAG.
FWIW
YMMV
