Power window - 93 GA

The power windows on my 2dr 93 GA are giving me some grief. They seem to be falling out of their track - well sort of. The windows will go up about half way in the track and then pop out. I'm not sure if the problem is with the track (no "runner" on the window so I don't think it relies on the track for guiding) or with the mechanism that is inside the door. I was having some problems a while ago with the windows not aligning properly when they get to the top of the opening. I could help straighten it out if I put my thumb on it and push it back into the track when it was running up. The problem has been getting progressively worse! Anyone out there worked on this problem? How bad is it to repair? Can it be adjusted or do I need to replace parts. What does the mechanism look like inside the door (I have not opened it yet)?

There are 2 tracks inside the door, one in the front and one in the rear. It sounds like one of them is broken on your car, probably the rear one as that seems to be the point of most stress, not to mention the door latch is right there as well. The rear track is held in by a bolt on the bottom and a tab on the top. Remove the bolt, reach your hand in the door, grab the track and lift up. It should go up about 1/2 inch or so, then you can move it away from the edge of the door. They are a pain to line back up, just be patient when you are putting it back in, don't force it or you will break the tab off the top and will have to get another track. The front is similar, but alot shorter. Good luck.
