Ford Dealer's Attitude

Hello Everyone,
My Ranger is the first Ford that I've ever owned. It seems to be a great truck and I'm real pleased with it. However, the local Ford dealer is so-so at best. When I go to buy parts there, they give me no advice or any pointers. They want be in and out of there as soon as possible (and every time I've gone to the Ford dealer there has been no one else there). While at the GM dealer, they: made copies of mechanical drawing for me; give me advice and pointers; and if they don't know the answer to my question they have twice gone back and asked the mechanics.
The GM dealer says that this is Ford's attitude in general. I'm not sure, as this is my first Ford. What has your all experiences been like?
Thanks,
Stan
