i have a lancer glx (1998) and I can convert it into an evo...it is easy to find evo parts and original bodykits (especially from evo2 to evo 6) in my country (Malaysia) and it is also cheaper to change my lancer into an evo according to my friends. but can it be the same as evo such as in it's performance (after i change the engine, turbo system, gear etc), handling (eventhough after i change it into a 4WD system), braking (after i upgraded the braking system with the original evo braking system). so, i need every information you people have about the other things i need to do in order to make my lancer looks and perform like an evo.

your better off buying a Evo III or IV...
doing a whole Evo conversion is an expensive matter and you may not even get the power of an EVO anyway.

Seems to me like all that would be left from the origional car would be the frame, some seats and instruments and the rearview mirror. I can't speculate because we don't have Evos in the U.S. (I know, it is a real shocker after reading everything on the Lancer Forum- you heard it here first), but it would seem a lot cheaper to just buy an Evo, if not just as expensive... You wrote changing it into a 4WD- if that can be done it will be a huge cost. Seems stupid to me, just get a new (or used) one.

just about every part on a Lancer is changed to make the EVO.... if you try to do it yourself it'll be crap (and expensive) the only thing that stays the same is the look
