2003 Malibu/door locks

I have a 2003 Chev. Malibu that was lightly wrecked and I bought as salvage. Problem is that now having repaired the vehicle I find the door locks work fine with the remote fob and with the interior buttons but when I put the car in park and turn the ignition off, the door(s?) do not unlock like I've seen other Malibu's do. Also noticed when I hit door lock on remote twice I don't get a "toot" from my horn indicating alarm set. I would appreciate any info. Possible ignition switch problem? Thanks for any help! :)

I think both things you describe can be activated/deactivated per the users preference. You would have to check the owners manual.
