Brake line failure, need your help

You guys have provided some great help here, and I hope I've contributed a bit as well.
Now I need your help.
I have a '99 SLT, 5.2.
I just had the steel brake line that runs the length of the truck corrode through and burst, spraying fluid everywhere and draining the system.
I got an ABS and BRAKE light, of course.
I've replaced the broken line, and am about to refill with fluid and bleed brakes all around.
Question: Will I have to reset the ABS and BRAKE light? If so, how do I do this?
Thanks in advance.

Okay, problem solved.
After bleeding, both lights have extinguished.

Dave I just had my line blow out on 98 SLT 5.9 L in front of passenger side rear tire. Lines look very rusty. Did you do all lines or just splice? Did you use original line routing or make your own path?

rd,
I only replaced the busted line, which in my case was along the driver's side, running the full length of the vehicle. I inspected the rest of the lines, but they looked good.

I bought a full-length piece from the stealership, and it was pre-bent to the proper configuration and with end fittings already installed. I don't see how I could have just spliced in a repair...as you say, it was too rusted to even attempt salvaging any of the line. Had to drop the fuel tank....a real pain.

If you say you have a burst line on the passenger side, then as I recall that's a relatively short piece that just runs from the terminal block near the differential, over to the right rear wheel. I'd just buy a piece from the dealer...actually the price wasn't too bad.

(By the way, I read your Profile.....we have amazingly similar profiles! And my DOB is '48).

Good luck.
