Coolant Reservoir Mark

Hi, 97 GPGT 3.8 with 114,000. I have a question regarding the coolant reservoir. There' a mark about three inches from the bottom and on the hose going in there's a cold mark towards the top of the hose. Which is which? Is the cold mark on the lower mark on the reservoir or is the cold mark on the hose towards the top of the reservoir. If it's towards the top that would basically fill the reservoir about four inches from the top. I hope you can make sense out of this question but I've been wondering for some time now.

It has to be the lower mark on the reservoir. The 1997 - 1998 coolant reservoirs are confusing. I've got one for '99 and up models due to my CAI. It has a bottom mark on the reservoir for cold and a hot mark right above it.
