Im not a fan of red bull but I usually do have at least one energy drink during the day. And sometimes one before my workout. Its usually full throttle, amp, or mega energy (my new favorite). That added with my gnc sport multivitamin and nitric oxide I stay pretty jacked most of the day. Which comes in handy during those 13 hour days of manual labor.

My last year in college I would drink one every once in a while on the way to class. Usually if I didn't wake up in time to make coffee. Once I started working the Monsters were my every Friday drink. I quite those and just stick to coffee now. It may be the nasty coffee at work, but it's free.

sucks to be you. i always had a good supply of caffeine. so i was totally buzzed from it all the time, i'd sit blanky and stare into nothing sometimes, people would talk to me and i'd have no idea.
i've done 4 days without sleep, never done more than that. seriously screws with you, i don't know how much caffeine i consumed over that time but i felt crap for about a week afterwards.

I used to drink a redbull each day before work, it helped me to get through the day so easily, a nice jolt of energy and i felt great all day. Well after about 1-2 years of this, 3-5 redbulls a week, i started getting some serious stomach pain. Like side crippling pain that kept me form going into work. I went to the doctors and they said i had blood in my urine. Ive stopped drinking redbulls and my stomach no longer hurts.
Id advise against drinking them on a daily basis or for more anything more than a pick me up when really needed.

I'm not comparing them, though the head people for the NFL are trying to get the players to stop drinking it before games for health reasons. I was just stating that since they cant use ephedrine products and a few other products that are legal, they had started drinking red bull for that edge.

in college i was doing a 2-year course in 1 year. i had a lot of deadlines and a lot of work, so every week there were at least 2 night i didn't sleep. that's how much work i had to do. in the extreme cases i had coursework (like projects that go towards your final grade) and they needed lots of work (which paid off in the end) so i went 3-4 days without sleeping to get them done.

Wha Wha WHAT!? How could you go through school without ever pulling an all night extravaganza? I averaged about two per semester.
There was a time when I was up for about 3 days but it wasn't school related. Me and my friends were having a typical "I'm better at everything than you" argument when I told them how could stay awake way longer than they could. So the next day after a full nights rest and 11am wake up calls the contest was on. We of course had to hang out together for the full time so after the first 36 hours when that irritability started to set in, we wanted to choke each other. I won though with about 68 hours of stay up time. I had won the contest after like 60 hours when my second friend gave up, but I stayed up playing GT3.
The best part about the contest was whenever you fell asleep, the remaining awake guys got to give you the good ol Rick Flair chop across the chest and send your punk ass to bed!

i don't usually drink energy drinks. it's not that i don't like them, i actually like the taste of them, it's that i have no use for those extra calories. i'm trying to cut weight so the sugar doesn't help and i hate the taste of artificial sweeteners.
as for staying up, i don't think i've done more than one night but i've done many of them. during frosh week i was rowing, waking up at 4:30, and i wouldn't get home until about 2am-2:30am. i started hallucinating on a drive home (i saw a dog run across the road then looked at it and it was just a rock on the side of the road lol.) so i decided to stop rowing until frosh week was over.
as for coffee, i drank some while in europe and loved it but i haven't found much good stuff here so i don't drink it all that often

I never did. But I also barely studied. I did my papers/projects usually the day before, depending on how much work was required for completion. I some times got up early if I decided I really needed to review.

I started drinking coffee when I was 12. Caffine doesn't effect me AT ALL belive it or not. Sugar is what really gets me hyper, and I have a candy bar once in a blue moon.
I drink a few cups of coffee a week and a ROCKSTAR once a day. It tastes just like redbull but the can is cooler and costs the same for twice as much. I really love the taste of the stuff.
As for the steven segal energy drink, that stuff tastes like shit! SUPERMAN SUPERPOWER (by SOBE I belive) is the worst tasting thing EVER.

oh god, the driving hallucinations are the WORST. I only wish i could get such vivid hallucinations when im tripping on shrooms. The weird thing about them is that not only do you see things that aren't there, or ARE there but they're merely benign objects, you also always think that whatever/whoever it is is aobut to do something stupid and jump out in front of your car. I always think that mailboxes are people aobut to dart out in front of me, or reflectors in the guardrails are oncoming headlights coming straight for me.
The worst one ive had was i thought the reflectors on my side of the road were the reflections off the taillamps of a cop car, and that he was pulling a U turn right in front of me. I SLAMMED on my brakes and skidded to a complete stop before i realized that it was all COMPLETELY in my head.

anyways, a tip for anyone doing engineering, labs take longer than you expect, so don't leave them until the night before. i did that for the past 2 (my first 2) labs, on was my fault the other wasn't. anyways, i've pulled 2 all nighters and 1 near all nighter (as in an hour of sleep). also, the second all nighter was a sunday night. friday night i didn't get much sleep because i had to wake up at 3 to go on a 3hr drive for a regatta (rowing), then the next night i went to bed at about 3 (maybe later) and woke up at 6am to drive back(still drunk but i was a passenger), then i pulled the all nighter. let's just say, i didn't get anything out of those classes, i handed in my lab, then went to my car to nap, slept in my car through my first class (3 hours later), then i woke up, went to my second class, passed out as soon as i sat down, then went to my third class and actually wrote donw notes (it was the only class i actually need to listen in)

I stick to eload, it's a product from a smallish canadian company where it gives you back your electrolytes in the right ammount (as in the ratio that you sweat them out) and it gives you energy in the form of devtrose, which is absorbed much quicker than the fructose that's used in most other energy drinks. it also doens't taste as strong, which i like.
