It depends on how bad the whining is. On a GTP the supercharger may make a whining sound depending on boost conditions.
You might want to amplify.

When you don't hear it then it is time to worry. Other than that it sounds good to go. :bigthumb:
BTW - Don't forget to check the supercharger oil level periodically and replace the stuff for long SC life. I do all of mine X 2 once a year.

so this may sound dumb but like i said before i dont know that much about cars, but for future refference (and since i can still hear the supercharger whine), where is the supercharger oil located? and what kind of oil do i look for in the store to refill it with?

There's a little nut on the SC you remove to get to the oil. No drain plug, so it has to be siphoned out. Only oil I've ever known to put in it is the GM SC oil, typically 2 squeeze bottles will do.

You'll need 2 bottles of GM supercharger oil, part number 12345982. Each bottle is 4 oz. After a drain it will need about 6 oz. There is a filler plug on the snout.
Here is a tech procedure that will give you an idea of how to do it. Stop at the part where it says to remove the snout.

A turkey baster will work fine to remove the old nasty oil.

Any GM dealership will probably have the oil, that's where I got mine from. If not, there's websites you can order it from, like PFYC.com and 3800performance.com

the second generation eatons have the drainhole. which that same nose will replace yours and easy power upgrade with a overdrive pully. that whine you are hearing is mostly the tensioner spring is going bad on the supercharger drive belt.......since you are hearing it while accelerating.

FYI. '97 - '03 L67 GTPs have an Eaton M90 Gen3 blower.
