Looking at a 2001 Millenia S

Thinking of cars like this because gas is so high. We would like a nicer winter car. I am not so familar with these smaller V6 engines, especially with the supercharger. Our primary car is a 4.6L V8 and with 115K, still goes good but we once got close to 26 mpg, now almot 23, I guess can be expected when it gets older. Our winter car is an Oldsmobile with a 3.8L V-6, gets 26 mpg with our average driving. The "S" reads 20/27 I believe. This car is much lighter than either of our other cars and the engine is much smaller, does it really only get about 25 mpg, seems very low. If that is the case, I might go for a nice low mileage Aurora, I have my eye on, bigger and more comfortable, I am sure and not much to sacrafice in mileage. Although the Millenia "S" really looks like a ver nice car and probably is more reliable. Comments?

Thanks
Barry

Millenia's are very nice cars. The 2.3 liter v-6 in the S model is a Miller cycle engine.200 plus hp out of 2.3 liters is a lot.Cars are tricky to work on and expensive to fix if they break.Very reliable, however. The tranny is the weak spot in these cars so if u buy one make sure tranny has been properly serviced.Nothing about the Miller cycle motor is the same for the more common 2.5 V-6 Mazda motor in 626's and other MIllenias.Parts are high as a result.BJ
