Paper towel stuck in a bad spot

In a nutshell, after replacing my valve cover gasket and spark plug seals because of oil I found on my spark plugs, I decided to stick some paper towel on a long stick down the tube to mop it up before I put the plugs back in. As you've probably guessed, a small wad of paper towel is now stuck down there out of sight.
I'm not sure if it will burn up or what, I'm scared to turn on the car. So far I'm thinking I can either turn on the car or pay a mechanic to get it out. I'm not sure how to even get in there to the cylinders. Anyone have a thought (besides how dumb an idea that was)?

By out of sight do you mean in the cylinder or just stuck down in the hole the spark plugs sit in?

As far as I know it's stuck in the hole the spark plugs sit in. It is past the point where the threads are, and has seemed to turn a corner.

So it's in the cylinder then...well, I would get a flashlight and see if there is any part of it you can grab with a pair of pliers or something. Bit of stick with a hook on the end, vaccuum...something. I actually don't know how bad it would be to try and start it with it in there but I can't see it making anything explode. Like you proposed it would probably get burnt and crushed then exit cylinder. But it may cause some misfiring.

I started the car up. It idle'ed low for a few seconds then seemed to be fine...drove it around a bit too. Glad it wasn't serious. Thanks for your reply
