It depends on whether you have a re-pogrammed PCM. But if it is stock nothing less than 180 or preferably the stock 195 degree. Of course, what thermostat you use depends on what part of the country you live in and the winter. The heater does come in handy during the winter. :grinyes:
The 160 will probably trigger a ECT sensor warning due to improper engine warmup and the HVAC heating will leave a lot to be desired in the winter.

well i do havea reprogrammed pcm, and i also wanted to tell you that i kinda exaggerated when i said my car shifts at 7000, actuall its about 6200, the needle goes just past 6000 and shifts. so i will go with the 180, but should i get a drilled or non-drilled? thanks.

I would use non-drilled due to the winter coming up. Since you have a re-programmed PCM the ECT DTC will be inhibited from coming on due to a low temperature thermostat. Good luck.
BTW - Where I live the winter is so mild I can use a drilled 160 all year around.

Sure, rub it in Bob, lol. I'm in Southwest MI and it gets cold for way too long. I'm gonna try to leave my 180 stat during the Winter, hopefully it'll throw enough heat.

Sorry Paul. That wasn't my intention. Won't hurt to give it a try. As long as it keeps the feet warm.
BTW - You guys can do like alot of us did and move to the Sunbelt. But I know that is easier said than done. We migrated from New Jersey a long time ago.
