2000 Intrigue location of blinker relay or other possible problem question

On my wifes car, I went through the blinker light problem. I replaced bulbs over & over again. I finally replaced the socket & it have been great for 2 years.

Now sometimes her blinkers do not flash at all, until you push the flashers & then they will work. I think this is the blinker relay. Is the blinker relay & the flash relay one in the same? Does anybody now the location of it? I tried to follow the sound above the gas petal. Is this a socket type one or is it solder to the bcm type. If it is the solder one, can you just solder in a new one then. Is it the one that just hangs. I just can not find it & do not want to replace the wrong item. Has anybody else had this problem? Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.

this is fairly easy to replace. I actually replaced mine right at the dealership where I bought it. I had air vent off.

Were your problems the same as mine? Just do not want to through it parts. I am pretty sure that is the problem. I just could not see it looking under the dash area, but I could here it there. Thank you so much for your help. I bought I book for the car, but it is very incomplete. It is a book for different vechicles. For some reseason they do not have one for the intrigue. For as many problem that the intrigue has you think they would have a library section just for it. :grinyes: Have a good one.

the Intrigue is getting old. Most likely your problem has happened before to someone else. Use the search option to do a search for your problem next time.

The flasher relay is an easy fix and also a very popular problem with the Pontiac Grand Am.

The asking $120 was a joke (see link), but some people have actually paid $300+ to have the flasher relay replaced.

If a person was not very handy. $120 with the part might be a fair price. Thanks again.
