Weird....please help

Ok...I'm was looking in my engine bay when I noticed that it looks like my engine mount on the left hand side (if you are standing infront of the car) is not connected on one of the sides. It is the mount that is under/behind the battery and its the side that is nearest the firewall that seems to not be connected. There is no nut or bolt in the hole but there is about an inch gap inbetween where they should be connected. Now I'm pretty sure that it should be connected, but I haven't noticed anything when I drive that car that could be a cause of having one of the motor mounts off, except for the same side tire in the front wears extremely fast and the car will tend to shake a little when I hit the gas.

Now if this IS supposed to be connected where could I find the correct nut and bolt to connect it back. I tried pulling on the piece to get in in place, but I guess with the weight of the engine/tranny I won't be able to pull it back into place. I'm guessing I may have to use an car jack to jack up the tranny to get the holes lined up to put the new nut and bolt back in.

Any help would be appreciated guys! If you think pictures will help I can post some tomorrow b/c my camera is dead ATM.

Yeah, my car is the same way. I've always wondered about it but the motor and trans seem firmly attached to the car so I just sorta forgot about it till now...

just go to the local hardware store and find one long enough to fit it. or measure how long the one on your drivers side is and just find a matching nut. shouldnt be a hard problem to fix just jack the tranny like you were thinkin on the passenger side to align it and slip it in.

if you also have a local junkyard just nab one from a car sittin there if thats easier for you

So it there SHOULD be a nut and bolt there? I tried earlier to jack up the tranny but the whole car just raises with it and the gap still stays the same.

well my d-series had bolts in the front, back, passenger, and driver side mounts. im sure that yours should too. it could be bringing the car up because the mount could be resting on the frame so you might have to loosen the other mounts to get it to fit. i dont understand what the gap looks like, pictures will definately help theyre worth a 1000 words :lol:

There is nothing that bolts there, its just an extra spot that was used on some other car.
