I rinsed the motor on my o1 f150 5.4 then next day had a miss.Figured out cylinder 4 was misfire so i removed plug put new one in and dried everything out.The next day i was happy miss gone then slowly came back. It seems like when i first start and drive its fine then after a couple minutes starts jerking again. Usually if its hammered its somewhat smooth then when i let off it is back. As i accelerate is when its worse. Keep in mind just put all new plugs in couple months ago and was running absolutely perfect before i pulled the wash stunt like a dumbass.... Any ideas please DAVE

You said you changed the plugs. What about wires, cap and rotor. Sounds to me like you have a bad wire somewhere. You could take a spray bottle filled with water and mist all over cap, and wires. Look for sparks. Also you could have moisture inside the cap. Undo cap and spray a small amount of hair spray to in inside of cap. Reinstall and start engine. But if you are going through the troble to remove cap you might as well replace with new if not already done.

Pete my truck has no cap or wires. On each cylinder there is a coil that sits on the plug.

Well in that case, you could have a bad coil, or the rubber boot that goes down from the coil to the plug could be bad. I have done many tuneups on this motors and cannot stress enough the importance of using dielectric grease on the plug boots. I must have missed where you said 01 5.4. Sorry for the confusion. But by changing the boot it should clear up your problem.
