Hi All, I love these Forums. My Daughter's first car is a 86 Nova 2 bl 4Cyl. A.T.
The fast idle takes forever (about 5-10 seconds) to come down to be able to turn off the engine without it hick-upping. Is their a vacuum that controls how long it takes to come down or an adjustment on the Carb.? It seems like it has been taking longer and longer to come down over the past 3 weeks. Once it comes down to Normal it's perfect!

fyi-

Much like trying find parts, you'd be best off in the futre posting in the Corolla forums, since in essence all the car is a rebadged Corolla. It always blew my mind when I'd go to the parts counter and ask fo rparts under Nova and they wouldn't have, but when under Corolla, boom there it is.

Anyhow, there is a fairly large screw on the back side of the carburetor to set udle speed, it fairly easy to find, so you've probably figured it out already. But, before messing with it, I'd clean up all the linkages and throttle blades, give it a quick shot of cleaner and the work it in.
