1997 Lumina intermitant stalling,starting probs fixed

I inadvertantly hit enter in my last attempt to enter this post..Here goes again...My usually reliable 1997 Lumina LS suddenly started stalling and would not always start up again..continued for a few days (good for a while then stall again) Had it towed to a neigbors small auto-shop and he determined that it was the ECM (engine control module)...He swapped in the ECM from another Malibiu that he had in the shop at the time..and presto...stalling probs disappeared. Drove car home with no probs...(my fingers are crossed)
Cost $250 (CDN) for the new ECM and 130(CDN) for labor (2 hrs)...I hope this is indeed the fix....and not just an intermitant "up" period for the car. Will let you know if stalls again...

This is my first post in this forum. I own a Lumina LS 1988. It has a mind of its own, it runs perfectly well some time, and rough most of the time. But it never stopped on roads. Two weeks back, one fine morning, i started and drove it for 2-3 miles and it died suddenly. I start it again and and drove well for another 15 min. It died again. I could start the engin again, but it dies after a minute or so( even at idle). Some times it would run 5 - 10 minutes(idle) before it dies again.
I went to a mechanic who told me that my injectors are clogged. He added two bottles of AC DELCO fuel injector cleaner into a fulltank. and started the car again. To my surprise, the car started running smooth. I have't seen my car running this smooth in the last whole year.
After a week of happy driving( about 1000km), my Engine died out on road today again. I could start the engin again , and drove home(3miles)- it died twice on the way. My petrol tank still has the same gas mixed with injector cleaner. Its starting , running for 5-10minutes(idle) dying.
I am yet 2 see the mechanic again.
Any clues?

Any error codes? There could be some helpful data stored in the PCM.
