Just in the middle of completing a Birthday present for a relative which is the old VW Beetle with a big '40' on the side (yes you guessed it, its her 40th Birthday) once thats done Im moving onto a first for me, a 1/12 scale bike in the form of the Yamaha Virago with rider, should be fun!

Very awesome. Love the details and the wet tires is a nice touch of something you don't usually see.

Gorgeous work! You don't see much of the rain equipped cars, and yours is a stunning example. Keep it up!

Are those BBS wets? If so you are one of the lucky ones to recieve a full set of propery asymetric fronts!

Guys,
to everyone - thanks very much for the compliments, glad you all like it. Phil, the wet setup transkit was from Ron at Racing Miniatures, it is made by BBR and I can only recommend it if anyone can still get there hands on it.
As I have said this is the first build where I have really gone to town with extra details, the expense of aftermarket sets and scratchbuilding. Worryingly I really have got the bug for it, looking at the to do pile - if I spend as much time on each one as I have with this then I'll be old and grey before I get through them!!!!!! I have been looking at which ones I can do relatively OOB and there really isnt many - I have so many ideas for some of them now I cant wait to get started on the next one.
The good news is the winters coming in the UK which makes it easier to stay and model rather than playing outside in the sun!
thanks again to one and all for all your comments.

Absolutely stunning, I've been wanting to see this one finished since you started and it was worth the wait. I only have one thing, and I'm not even sure I'm right!! I think the tyres are on the wrong side of the car, I seem to remember that when these tyres came out, the curvy tread was on the inside, because of the camber, to try and remove more water from under the contact patch and expel it out the sides.
Like I said, I'm not sure but I'm trying to find pictures of these tyres to, hopefully, prove me wrong! If not, it's an easy fix and you will have a perfect model, If I am wrong, you have the perfect model now!!!!

Fantastic build, it really looks the part. The scary thing is that it probably looks even better in person. Any plans for the next F1 car?

thanks guys, really appreciate your feedback.
As for whats next well my latest project is a first for me, its a 1/12 Yamaha Virago, never tackled a bike before and its proving to be great fun, see it here:
http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=620443
As for the next car well, apart from the Wolf I have all the Tamiya F1s in the to do pile, not totally sure which one to do next however Im tempted with the Lotus 99T. I also fancy having a go at a GT/Le Mans car too - again I have a few in the pile to choose from, just to make matters worse there is the WRC pile too - there are alot in there that I am dying to get started on, oh descisions, decisions!
Im just working on my website at the moment so that will finally be updated over the next few days.

Hi Sean,
Apologies for not commenting on your completed thread sooner... only just noticed it :frown:
Really superb work. Wonderful, wonderful, stuff and an inspiration to get cracking on it myself. (A little bird told me that Santa is going to be bringing me this model for Christmas :) which I am obviously delighted about.)
All the best,
Bill
