Bought Two Talons on Sunday

Hey Guys,
Well I thought I would welcome myself to the DSM community. Well last weekend was the annual Automotive Flea Market near Toronto and I went down looking to buy a decent Talon. Well the car auction rolled around and I was there with a few buddies and a 91 Talon rolled up to the main stage, so I felt my self pretty interested. Well the auctioneer guy yelled out "Do I hear 1500?" No body said a word then, "Do I hear 500?" So a guy in the crowd through his hand up, so 600 rolled around and thats when my hand went up, and sure enough im the proud owner of a 91 Talon. It turns out the guy was over 70 years old selling the car and it had been stored for the last few years, its got the original paint and all it needs for certification is a break job and the gas lines leaking so thats being fixed as well. Later on in the day we stumble upon a 95 Talon for sale the guy was asking $9800, so we go see him a few times show some interest, feel him out and come back at the end of the day and offer him $7000 cash, and sure enough he took it and im an even prouder owner of a 95 Talon. Its got 125,000 kms, T4 turbo, Greddy FMIC, Greddy Type RS BOV, 500cc Injectors, KYB adjustable shocks and some exterior mods including really nice front bumper, brand new rims and tires and an Eclipse wing. So overall im pretty happy about the whole weekend. I figure im going to use the 91 in the winter and 95 in the summer, so that way im driving nothing buy a DSM.

he said the second was turbo.. The first however he didn't say what it was. I assume a base model.

Sorry about the misplaced thread. Sorry, the 600 dollar Talon is a turbo as well. So I think I made out pretty well, I will definatly have some pictures posted soon.

Either of them AWD? Congrats by the way, was that in USD or CAN?

They are both AWD, and both were bought in Canadian currency. I apreciate the offer but im definatly keeping the 91 haha. It turns out i need to buy a gas tank for it so im looking right now.

Well shit, I've got a gas tank in my 91 that I dont need. Too bad its under a tarp 4 hours north of me.

So what do you think of them?

In responce to Thor, I definatly love them so far. But finding parts around here isnt the easiest. In regards to that gas tank I cant find one anywhere, however I did find a gas tank out of a 94 Eclipse. Do you guys know if they are the same or not? I called around but no one could tell me. A guy in a parts department said the tanks changed sometimes when the transmissions changed, i thought that was a little strange myself. Well any info would be great.

I think he might've meant the AWD gas tank is different. Pretty sure it is on
2Gs, but not so sure about 1Gs.

Oh I see what you mean now... Ok now I"m really not sure if they are the same between FWD and AWD... I know all the AWD's from 90-94 are the same at least. lol :icon16:

Sweet deal man. I was going to buy a 96 awd turbo 5 speed talon for 900 but the dude sold it out from under me.Damn him I found two other Eclipse though they are 92 models I could probally get for cheap.

dang man that sounds like a pretty nice deal on the 91. im lookin to buy a 91 or 92 tsi awd turbo myself. i didnt know anything about talons when i bought my 94 es... haha

Yeah I would love to get a few more play pretties lol but I do have a wife and a kid on the way so that may or may not work.

Sounds like 2 good deals to me. I had a 91 awd and loved it but it was an auto =[ it was still a great car i kno this might sound weird but i had more problems with my 2nd gen then i did with the first gen but there both very fun cars good luck!
