On a tuesday this week , after i installed new sparkpulgs on my vr4, I ran in to a problem after i installed the new sparkplugs and started the car and moved it acouple of feet braking hard so that maybe the socket that fell into the car would come out the bottom. When i turned off the car and wanted to turn it on again, It would not but, i did get a noise. That noise was coming from the rear and it sounded like it was being turned off and on really fast. This happen when I Just put the key in the ignition and after i took out the key. When i was going to start the car i hear a CLICK and right there i know there is something wrong with the battery. I checked the cabels to see if there was any visable white stuff i cant remember whats it called but there was not. cables were nice and tight.

Yesterday, I asked my dad if i could use his truck to use jumperwire cables to start the car. IT WORKED. but it sounded like the car struggeld in the begining. but it worked. I thought the batt was dead or the alternator. the car stayed running so i cleared the alternator. I decided to turn the car off and to turn it on again. The car did NOT TURN ON. it was getting late and i wanted to go watch something educational on the television.

This morning i decided to take my battery to school so could check it for current and so i could put it on the VAT-40. The battery was 100% charged at 12.6v and when i put it on the VAT-40 i got a good reading after i set it to 360amps. When i got home i decided to recheck the cables and look for that white stuff. again. I removed some of the rubber and there was a whole freakin load of it. This was on the + cables, the starter and the other one.

So my next plan of action is to buy new cables and pray this will fix my problem. Any suggestions?

electrical problems can be a bitch man. hopefully the new cables will do the trick for you. Being that it started/ran fine when jumped, the corrosion sounds like the issue.

Get new cables or just clean them up real good with a wire brush.
