95 Lumina, The instrument lights stay on with the ignition key out. Running down the battery. Is this a bad ignition switch??

The light switch is off. The lights that stay on are the (Air bag,check engine,and others) The ones that come on when you turn the key to the on before starting.

and they're still on even with the key out of the ignition??? Is there something wrong with your ignition that lets you remove the key in any position (run, start, accessory, etc.)

Yes they are still on with the key out of the ignition. No, the key only comes out in the off position

I bet richtazz, jeffcoslacker, or someone will have a good answer for you, probably in the morning. I'm stuck on that one. :(

You likely have a failing ignition switch. You can remove fuse #39 temporarily to conserve the battery, but may have loads in other circuits as well.

There is a recall on the 95 Lumina's for the ignition switch. You can see if your car is under that recall and have it replaced. That may fix the problem.

Is was a bad ignition switch. replaced it and ok now. Thanks to all.
