Here are some better pics that I promised. They actually came out pretty decent. I was trying to make sure that you could see details like the nitrous solenoids and pressure guages (which were made out of aluminum). Let me know what you think.

-How had you realised the two colour of your car....
The grey and the 2 lines of black......????
Thanks for your answer...

Wow. So tell me how you really feel guys! :D Thanks alot for all the complements!!

why oh why did'nt you use a 67 kit man?

Actually, I`m kinda glad I used the `66 now. I have a picture of the `67 on my desktop, and the lines are a little more subtle on it in my opinion. The `66 seems more "in your face".

can u teach me how to build that nos bottle?
How did you find the bottle of nitrous?????
The bottle was taken off of an assembly from a pro mod kit. I did have to saw it off and sand it to shape a little bit, since half of it was integrated into the assembly.

I`m not sure exactly what your asking, but I was inspired by the movie "Gone in 60 Seconds", which has a Shelby mustang that is silver with black stripes. It is a good movie with lots of nice cars. I recommend it. :) :) :)

Yep, still looks amazing!!!

I'm sure u said in your other post u almost gave up modeling after the trouble u had with this. Stick with it man, if thats the standard of your work it will be a sad loss to the modeling community;)

I'm not much of a fan of American cars except for that one! That is one of the baddest models I've seen on this site. Awesome paint job! I wish I could do that. Nice work.:bandit:

Hawk, say did you scratch build the front bottom piece? Or took it from another kit?

jaxson

Your model is real bangin. That thing will definitly win u something if not first in a modeling contest. i was just wondering what kit did u build that from and what kind of wheels are those. You should try building the F&F Dodge Charger(just a sugesstion). :)

For the front bumper, I took the bumper from the 350R monogram kit. I sanded it smooth in the front, filled the holes, and then drilled new holes for the marker lights. I then took some strip styrene and shaped it around the bottom of the bumper, and sanded it to shape. I realized with this project how hard it is to get something proportionate and symetrical. Not fun. One side always seemed to look slighty different than the other.
The kit I started from was a `66 Cobra GT350H which is a pretty nice kit. Just to warn you, there is alot of sanding and shaping to be done with the body of this kit. The wheels are "daggers" from pegasus. I think the look worked with this car.

One more question, do you have the part number for the front piece from the 350R? And the kit number for the 350R?

Hawk312
08-31-2002, 11:57 PM
Actually, I don`t. Sorry. I built the 350R a long time ago, and dont have the box or intstructions. I`ll let you know if I come across them. Since the model is out of production and has been for a while, its a little hard to come by.

Damn! Thanxs anyway. I'll go hunting for one. Or I could try and scratch build one.

Sweet model. Like everyone has said, enter that thing in a contest and win a couple prizes. BTW if it's not too much trouble could you post a diagram of your nitrous setup or if it would be easier, one from another site where the bottles are in the back seat? Can't wait to see your next model.

Here is a really basic diagram of the setup. Sorry about the crudity. I used my brothers real car`s setup as a refernce. There should also be a a small purge valve somewhere around the solenoids.http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/893234nitrosetup.jpg

Simply amazing. Top super shinny paint job and great engine detail.
The real car itself is a work of art.
