ok, i just want to know what you guys think is possible with this setup... (as far as HP/TQ)

8:1 engine newly rebuilt, Dynamic Racing street grind cams, Dynamic Racing high-rev springs, 15gs, 550cc injectors, hotwired walbro 255, SAFCII, datalogger, full turbo back exhaust, intake, and a bunch of other stuff but no real power boosters...:naughty:

i would say anywhere between 1 - 500 HP. The reason for the big range, is because the TUNE is the most important element. All those mods + a bad tune = crappy HP. Make sure it's tuned good.

is this setup supposed to be for a daily driver? if so, you're in for a treat...when you upgrade cams on a car, you lose vacuum from the intake b/c of the increase valve overlap. as a result, you have little to no vacuum boost when braking, so you'll have to stand on your brakes everytime just to bring the car to a normal stop.

If you're buying a new block, just get one of Rays 3.7l stroker kits.

but the 3.7L stroker kit would cost as much as the block!

Street cames will most deffinatly not have that effect.

so what amount of overlap gives that affect?

is it based upon amount of overlap? or is it also dependent upon the engine and how much vacuum you normally have on stock cams? i would think its a matter of the brake booster, how much vacuum is required to operate it normally, and minimum required for normal operation.

reason i chimed in b/c a friend of mine recently got his 94 rt/tt back from the builder. he has cams in ( not sure what kind/grind, but now i'll have to ask) and he has no vacuum for braking.

Did he upgrade the turbos?

The manifold vaccuum should always be present when the turbos are idling (0 boost) no matter what the cam overlap otherwise the the engine would die at idle...

I think he might have a vaccuum leak somewhere because the vaccuum formed at idle should be stored in the vaccuum canisters (this might not have been an issue before b/c stock turbos with stock BOV and wastegate might be removing the boost fast enough to from a vaccuum for the brakes when he got off the gas).
