Welcome all, proud owner of a 91 Tracker that unfortunately has some problems. Firstly the driver's side manual window has stuck halfway down, was always hard to wind but I had foolishly hoped that it would free itself. After taking the door panel off it appears that the wire cables have somehow managed to get tangled in the spool like mechanism of the regulator. I've never seen this kind of set-up and have no idea how to proceed. My Chilton's manual is of no assistance so I'm hoping some knowledgeable readers have experienced this problem. Secondly my fuel gauge doesn't work, although the previous owner assured me that it had worked fine when parked, about three months before I purchased the vehicle. Any idea how to begin diagnosing the problem, fuse, wiring, drop the gas tank to inspect? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, David

I haven't looked into the doors, but I can tell you the gas tank is pretty easy to drop.
Just try to do it with an empty tank, or close to it. (but don'r run out, since you don't have a working gauge! LOL)
Probably just a rusted ground.
Looking from the rear, the sender is the smaller one on the left of the tank, IIRC. Bring penetrating oil, for the battle, if yours is like mine was.

for the window, you need a new regulator. you can get em off ebay around 35-40 bucks if nobody bids em up (270045093669, ebay number).
