for the 1st time i got my car broken into .....of all the 3 damn cars i have owned 1st one while living in the ghetto why now jeez they stole my damn boom box with 2 12'' that was given to me as a gift and had em bolted down to the cargo hooks damn em and they attmeped to take the cd player but they damaged it instead their loss well mine too ...and took the damn face plate oh and damaged the tint and broke the glass on the pass. side door all in all this crappy shit but atleast i had a good insrance compay and agent assnsed to the case i got the window and cd player and alarm installed less then 24 hours after calling the insturance company now i have a appt to have the tint redone and in case you were wondering wheres the replacemnt box well i had a alarm installed instead for the money and later i will add a diffent blown set up my currnet one was overkill but it was a gift ...sucks but man i thougth dealing with my insruace would be a nigth mere ....i was wrong it was so simple ...if i ever find the bast*** who did it i will see how much force it takes to bend a pipe...

I know this guy at our local flea mart that sells CD players the cheap car alarms does the key remotes and such. He had a roll of stickers printed at a shop for him from Viper, Valet and some he's made up. He sells more stickers than he does car alarms. Oh he has them for your home too. He sells them as replacement stickers, don't know how he does it.

With a couple of stickers and one of those blinking LED's in your fron dash area they won't touch it in most cases.

If they touch it then you will be dealing with a pro which in most cases could bypass the alarm anyways.

well i had the shop put the blue led on the cd player cover plate that covers the hole made by the factory opening therefore it would be very visable and i asked em not to put the stickers on so that way they would not know the kind of alarm i have so they have less of a chance of bypassing it

Yes, the stickers help. I do have a talking alarm in my car, but there's no blinking light on the dash - which I suppose can lull a perp into a false sense of security (no pun intended). They then touch the car, and it barks "Leave Immediately" and flashes the lights. There is one sticker on the back of the car, underneath the passenger side taillight assembly.

I live in a not-so-nice apartment complex and the 9C1 has been broken into 3 times in 3 years, two broken windows, a stolen 5-cell MagLite, and a stolen MP3 deck (and minor damage to the dash). The alarm went in two years ago after the third, and so far final, break-in and I haven't dealt with anything since, knock on wood.

The first upgrade I put in all of my vehicles is a quality alarm system.

Since then I wont leave a radar detector in the car without an alarm. Even with the alarm system all of my stuff is hidden out of sight, including the subs and amps in the back.

yeah....well now i carry a backpack to take all my vauales with me even with a alarm and tinted windows...now all i leave are napkins umbrella and a window washer and squzze ( or however its spelled) in view

Pretty much the way things are in America today. The stuff is mine. If I leave it in the seat with the windows down, it's still mine. If I leave the keys in the ignition with the engine running, it's still mine. Now that I'm on the soapbox, I think it's about time we eliminate these preying dirtbags from our country. Using deadly force against these criminals should be legal. Hell, offer a bounty on them. Cruel? Yes. Effective? Yes. Possible? Nope.

that's too bad about the break in. Back when I had my 1st car some punk kid came around in the night trying everyone's doors. We usually keep ours unlocked since we live in a pretty safe little neighborhood. they got into my car, stole 8 dollars from the center console - but left my $240 stereo alone - and stole my mom's CD's and some change from my dad's truck. Now we always lock our doors, especially since I put my radio in this truck, along with a Scosche 600w amp and a 12" behind the seat in a custom slimbox. It's too bad that we can't even leave CD's on the seat anymore.
By the way, my system only cost me a little over $200 and it sounds way better than this crap my buddy had in his. Just shows that you need to shop around, either for a system or for a good car alarm.

Sucks, bro. I hate theives more than anything. Fortunately I live in a state where you can shoot someone for breaking into your car. Trouble is you gotta catch em' in the act.

I actually did catch someone in the act one time. My boss and I had stopped in at the local Home Depot for a part we needed. We parked, ran into the store, they didn't have what we needed, so we turned right around and left. As we were walking out to the truck (1 ton chevy 4 door 4X4) we noticed the tool box was open and we could see someone through the tinted glass moving around on the other side of the truck. We hauled ass out to the truck.
My boss at the time was at a pretty proficient level in a martial art that I couldn't even hope to spell correctly. It is a form of Chinese wrestling focusing a lot on throwing your opponent in such a way to disable them quickly.
Well, as we rounded the front of the pick-up the dude (6'4" white guy) had both arms reaching into the tool box. My boss still at a full run hooked him around the neck and pulled him the length of the bed where he executed a flawless throw on this guy. The way the throw is constructed, your arms are pinned pretty much at your sides and you go face first straight into the ground. He pretty much AUGERED the guy face first into the asphalt.
the guy made a very weak, half hearted attempt to get up, but then collapsed again. We then proceeded to stand on either side of this guy and just kicked the fuck out of him. You could hear ribs cracking.

This all happened in a matter of seconds before anyone anywhere had any time what-so-ever to react. Soon, 3 of this guys friends emerged from a car and pretty much drug their fellow thief into the car and took off. We got license plate number and were able to ID the perp in a photo line up. The cops gave us a high five for kicking the guys ass and asked why we stopped kicking him.
I'm certian the guy was in very substantial pain for a very long time. I can only hope he knows he got off easy. The next time I catch a mother fucker breaking into my car, I probably won't have the balls to shoot him, but I know I won't stop kicking him untill the police arrive.


I know my story doesnt replace your belongings, but I hope it makes you feel not quite so bad knowing that justice is happening somewhere.

Not that I think that you are wrong with what was done, in most states if you do that kind of justice the theif can sue you right back in court and get away with it.

Most auto accessories will have them.

Use it and stickers and you will get 95% of the effect. The othe 5% would have broken in regardless.

They say locks are for honest people, theives will just break in.
But a blinking light seems to have a bunch more power than a lock.
Flashing light and sirens have even more power.

Spend $100 and get an alarm. It aint that much money.
