626 speed

Is the 626 fast?

I saw one in a rally race and heard a bunch of good stuff about them, but i wasnt sure how they did on the road.....

And if they are fast, how come i dont see many racing?

they have the same 2.0 I4 or 2.5 V6 as the ford probe, millenia, or mx6.

they're no race car.

they are a low-cost, powerful for the price, 4 door sedan.

the mazda 6 is a completely different story though.

Well were i am i see quite a bit of those MX-6's runnin around the street racing scene,
but i dont think any of them are very fast.
just a little riced out.

i have an 86 626 turbo and it hits 200 kph no problem... going up hill

dont under estimate what the 626 has under the hood. i have an 88 mazda 626 and i push this car as hard as i can every saturday night on the track. the car hasnt seen 4th gear in almost 2 years
doing about 75-85 mph in 3rd gear no upgrades in the motor no turbo
