top will not go down

Hello, 99 Slk 230. top has been working fine, pump works great and usually it goes up and down no problem.
But now it will not leave the windshield, the trunk lid goes up fine but thats it.
any info on this.

sometimes the hinge gets stuck. if you push up on the roof while you are pressing the switch for the top it might release. if that works then lube the hinges and all the contact points for the top. Their are also many switchs in the top circuit that could be faulty. If one of those switchs does not see the trunk all the way up, it will not let the top go back.
