Okay.....every time my SES light comes on I take it to get checked and its always the O2 sensor. Had it replaced 3 times. Now its on again. anyone else have this problem and if so, whats the deal?

What exactly is the code that gets set? I had a similar issue with another car, and it turned out to be the PCM sending a low voltage to the O2 sensor and since the car runs fine, I'm not worrying about it. One thing the code did point out was that my fuel injectors were going bad, but there were other codes associated with the O2 sensor as well. Sorry I wasn't much help, but if you have the exact code that has been set, there are others that may be able to help. Also, include kind of engine, mileage, etc.

GPFred is right. Post exact code along with year and engine size and we can offer more help. Could be a corroded connection somewhere.

Change the PCV valve and the grommet it sits in. Long shot but it could be sucking outsie air. Check everything relating to the air intake and clean the MAF, mass air flow sensor. We got into this heavy duty in the thread I originated

As I understand it, a code only points you in the right direction but if you changed the O2 sensor 3 times that apprently is not the problem, or maybe you changed the wrong one? Do what the others said and furnish more info please.

Edited: "Okay.....every time my SES light comes on I take it to get checked and its always the O2 sensor." Like Shorod said, the code should tell you which sensor is unhappy. P1131 refers to bank 1 sensor one, bank one is next to the firewall and sensor 1 is BEFORE the cat converter. On my 03 it sticks up out of the exaust manifold by the firewall like a sore thumb, I changed it and the CEL hasn't come back on in 410 miles and idle lope and surge went away to. :-)

Also, your car has either 3 or 4 O2 sensors. The specific code will tell which of the O2 sensors the code is pointing to.
